Itinerary:

Explore the most mesmerizing places of the south of Peru in this 8-day adventure. Get on board and discover all amazing places starting from Lima and its flavors, getting through the Nazca Lines, reaching the mythical Machu Picchu in Cusco and its beautiful landscapes along with all the history that surrounds them. 

Day 1: Welcome to Lima

Collect your luggage then meet your courteous driver in the arrivals lounge at Jorge Chavez International Airport, holding a sign with your name or group reference on it.

Get on board your air-conditioned vehicle and relax during the direct and hassle-free journey to your Lima hotel.

You will have free time for leisure.

Day 2: The Colonial and modern Lima

Known as The City of Kings, Lima has many iconic places. Combining the modern and colonial parts of the city, you will start visiting the beautiful districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, before heading to the Historic Center. There, you will have time to explore some of the most historically important streets of the city, leading to the Plaza de Armas, and also have time to take pictures of the amazing colonial architecture that surrounds it. Then, you will visit the impressive Convent of Santo Domingo, an astonishing building with colonial style. Afterwards, you will make a stop for a small tasting of the traditional Pisco Sour. After exploring the Historical Center, you will head towards the Larco Museum, house of the incomparable Treasures of Ancient Peru private collection and more than priceless 45,000 pieces.

Day 3: Overflight of the Nazca Lines 

Early in the morning, you will be transfered to the bus station to board the special bus service to Paracas in an approximately 4 hours trip. Once there, you will be transferred to the local airport.

Upon arrival at the Pisco airfield, in Paracas, prepare to board the plane for a memorable fly over the incredible Nazca Lines, located on the pampas of the same name. There, you can see the many giant and mysterious geoglyphs, which represent figures of animals and stylized plants, which are distributed among a huge labyrinth of straight, trapezoids, triangles and spirals, engraved on the earth and impressively preserved for about 2,000 years.

Day 4: Ballestas Islands Tour 

Prepare yourself for a boat trip to the Ballestas Islands. A beautiful marine enviorment where you can see thousands of birds, sea lions and seals and countless number of marine animal species. There, you will be able to appreciate the famous Candelabra design, a figure of the Nazca culture mysteriously engraved in the desert, can also be seen now from the boat.

At the appropriate time, you will be transfered to the bus station to board your transportation to the city of Lima. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day 5: Cusco City Tour with San Pedro Market & Ruins

You will be transfered from your hotel in Lima to the airport to board your flight to Cusco.

Upon arrival you will be assisted at the Cusco airport and then transferred to your hotel.

Explore the most iconic places of the city of Cuzco! Known as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this city is a living example of the mixture between Andean and Spanish cultures. The tour starts in the picturesque San Pedro market, a local market where you can explore the colors, flavors and traditions of modern Cuzco, surrounded with unique products in the area, including many varieties of potatoes, chillies, fruit, spices and many others. This experience continues with the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and cult center of the Sun God, above which the order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains standing to this day. The ascent continues as you reach the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an impressive example of the Inca military architecture. Afterwards, you will explore Q'enqo archeological site, an Inca ceremony site where many important ceremonies took place. Finally, you will arrive to the Plaza de Armas (main square), where you will visit the imposing Cathedral, the most important temple in the city.

Day 6: Chinchero, Textile Session and Ollantaytambo 

Today you will visit Chinchero, a small and picturesque town that houses an important Inca archaeological center built at the end of the 15th century, as well as a beautiful and traditional church. Then, a local family will open their home door for you to appreciate how they have preserved the traditional Andean spinning and weaving techniques and they will also show you how they get the bright colors for their looms naturally. Afterwards, on the way to Ollantaytambo, you will stop at the Racchi viewpoint, where you will have some of the best views of the Sacred Valley. Later, you will enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. You will continue to Ollantaytambo, one of the most representative architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire and one of the few places where the Spanish conquerors lost an important battle. Well known for its platforms, Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress that also served as a temple. Finally, you will descend to the town of Ollantaytambo, a picturesque place which stands out for maintaining the Inca urban planning as part of its original urban layout, with some buildings and narrow stone streets.

Day 7: Machu Picchu Tour with Voyager Train

This day holds what is bound to be the highlight of your visit to Cusco: Machu Picchu. As one of the most renowned and beautiful must-see destinations of the world, it’s no wonder it welcomes over 1 million tourists every year! Your adventure starts with an early train ride towards Aguas Calientes, a picturesque village at the foot of Machu Picchu citadel. Once you arrive it’s only a short bus ride up the mountain and you’ll find yourself standing before one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and one of the most important energy centers. It will be an unforgettable sight! You’ll set off to explore the citadel with its unique ruins, terraces and photogenic alpacas. From the highest hills you’ll be able to take in the unbelievable spectacle that is Machu Picchu seen from above. After soaking up the magical energy (and with plenty of photographs to show!) you’ll head back down to Aguas Calientes to board the Voyager train back to Cusco.

Day 8: Farewell

After breakfast and at the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the Cusco airport to board your flight.
