Itinerary:

Explore the most amazing places in Chile and tour along beautiful landscapes in this 13-day adventure. Learn the history that surrounds Santiago, explore the mysterious Moon Valley, watch the Tatio Geysers, visit the picturesque Puerto Montt and amaze at the Serrano Glaciers in a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 1: Welcome to Santiago!

Upon your arrival you will assisted at the Santiago airport and then transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Santiago City Tour

Santiago is a cosmopolitan city that blends the oldness with modernity. Today, you will see the origins of the city and landmarks such as Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Post Office and the Municipality of Santiago. The tour will continue by the Government Palace and you will have the chance to walk through some of the most traditional streets and neighborhoods. Later you will go towards the east, to see the modern buildings and how they have transformed the city.

Day 3: Viña del Mar & Valparaiso

Depart from Santiago to the beautiful port city of Valparaíso, approximately 120 kilometers away on a road that crosses the valleys of Curacavi and Casablanca with its vineyards and fruit plantations. When you arrive in Valparaíso you will understand why Unesco declared it a World Heritage Site, with its beautiful buildings, colorful hills with viewpoints to the Pacific Ocean. You will appreciate emblematic places such as the National Congress, the Italy Park, and the Victory Square.

Afterwards, you will visit the La Sebastiana House Museum; belonged to the poet Pablo Neruda with his collections of old maps and some of his appreciated personal objects. Then you will pass through viewpoints located in Cerro Concepción and its splendid views of the sea. Continue this beautiful journey to the city of Viña del Mar, better known as the "Garden City" and largest resort in Chile. Elegant, sophisticated and inspired by the French Riviera with its exquisite corners and buildings.

Day 4: Moon Valley

At the schedule time you will be transferred from your hotel to the Santiago airport to take your flight to Calama. Once there, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.

You will leave San Pedro de Atacama to take highway 23, after 19 kilometers (12 miles), you will reach to the Salt Mountain Range, one of the main attractions for tourists visiting this pre-Andean oasis where you will find the "Dinosaur Valley", the "Death Valley", dunes for some fun sandboarding and lookouts with views of the mountain range and its volcanoes.

At the "Moon Valley", you will see canyons that were formed by water millions of years ago, while rock salt, selenite, and clay will show the essence of the Moon Valley.

You will visit the Central Crater to have a better view of the valley and the amphitheater. You will see the Three Marys, geological formations named so by famous Father Gustavo Le Paige many years ago. Finally, from the Kari lookout, one of the highest in the Salt Mountain Range, it is ideal to see how the sun hides giving way to a beautiful and colorful sunset.

Day 5: Altiplanic Lagoons

Today you will visit the “Gran Salar de Atacama”, white and rough surface where shallow lagoons are home to a large number of flamingos that choose this water as a nesting place, allowing you to observe these wonderful birds. Geological studies consider this salar flat as the most important reserve of lithium of the planet, requiring it on a 40%. Under weak water furrows small villages are born. After watching this wonderful landscape and natural phenomenon, you will continue your trip to the Altiplanic Lagoons. These lagoons, which are within the 4,500 m. a. s. l., are of great beauty. In their landscapes you can see wonderful various Andean shades of colors. In addition, its flora and fauna are unique because they are found only in protected areas and at this height. The height allows you to be very close to mountains and volcanoes, some of which are considered sacred and have inspired beautiful legends of the Atacama Desert. On the way you will find the town of Socaire, where they have preserved ancestral traditions over time, inherited from their inhabitants, shepherds or farmers, who cultivate the Pachamama -or Mother Earth. To do so, they use the old system of Andean terraces, which allows them to generate certain types of crops. Lunch with typical food in a local restaurant in Socaire will be served.

Day 6: Tatio Geysers and Machuca Town

oday you will head to the imposing geothermal field, the Tatio Geysers, located at 4,300 masl. The steam fumaroles, that reach 50 meters high, are mixed with the imposing beauty of the Andes, multiple colors and varied fauna, among which the Vicuña, an American camelid with elegant walk and adapted to live on extreme weather and geographical conditions. Here you will enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared at the geysers. You will visit the village of Machuca on your return, an ancient village with houses made of adobe, straw and cactus wood. Today it is dedicated to tourism, offering Andean local products such as handicrafts, llama meat, sopaipillas and empanadas. You will also visit the church of St. Santiago, patron of the town, to admire its ancient architecture.

Day 7: Puerto Varas

After breakfast you will be transferred from your hotel to the Santiago airport to take your flight to Puerto Montt, then at your arrival, will be transfer to your Hotel in Puerto Varas.

Day 8: Osorno Volcano & Lanquihue

You will begin this adventure from Puerto Varas “The City of the Roses” going to the Osorno Volcano. By the shore of Llanquihue lake you’ll enjoy the Amazing landscape with the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes, until you get to Ensenada where you will start to ascend to the Osorno Mountain and Ski Center, located at 1.240 m. a. s. l. (3937 feet). There, you will stay about an hour, and have time for sightseeing, take pictures, and appreciate a unique view to the summit of the volcano with glaciers of eternal snow, the Calbuco, Llanquihue Lake and the Pacific Ocean.

Afterwards, you will start our excursion to Frutillar, visiting first the city of Llanquihue, famous for its cecinas and place of origin of the Maullín River, it is part of the old Route of the Colonists and then you will border the Llanquihue Lake to go to Frutillar. This city is a beautiful town reminiscent of Bavaria, where its first settlers come from. It emerged in 1856 as a loading dock, soon showing tanneries, mills, breweries, etc. You will walk around its beautiful old German-style houses, admiring its well-kept gardens and its incomparable view of the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes. Optionally, passengers will have access to the German Colonial Museum that shows the life of the settlers, and in its Costanera you will see the Teatro del Lago where the famous "Musical Weeks of Frutillar" are held annually with concurrence worldwide.

Day 9: Peulla & Todos los Santos Lake

You can’t leave the region without first navigating the wonderful Todos los Santos Lake, visiting the world-famous waterfalls of the Petrohué River and discovering Peulla, a small ecological village of 120 inhabitants that is part of the famous Andean Crossing tourist circuit. After visiting Los Saltos del Río Petrohué, you will sail the Todos los Santos Lake for almost two hours, observing the Osorno, Puntiagudo and Tronador volcanoes.

Day 10: Puerto Natales

At schedule time you will be transferred from the Puerto Varas Hotel to the Puerto Montt airport to take your flight to Punta Arenas.

At your arrival you will be assisted at the Airport and transferred to the Bus Station to board the Bus to Puerto Natales, approximately 03 hours trip, to your hotel.

Day 11: Torres del Paine National Park

Today you will begin visiting the Milodon Cave, a natural monument located on Benitez Hill, 25 kilometers from Puerto Natales. From there, you will walk for half an hour to go into the cave and observe the stalactites, places where the remains were found and a replica of Milodon. This experience continues bordering different lakes such as Sofía, Porteño and Toro toward the park, which is a biosphere reserve founded in 1959 with a surface over 242.000 hectares. Here the landscape changes drastically becoming unforgettable due its dozen lakes populated by marine birds, and in the background granite picks dominating the area. Turquoise lakes, waterfalls and mountains covered by ice are the predominant landscape inside the park. The trip continues with a walk on the shores of Grey Lake, where blue icebergs can be seen, and in the background the vast Grey glacier. After lunch, prepare for a walk for 15 minutes into the park towards the Waterfall (Salto Grande), which communicates two big lakes inside the park; Nordenskjold and Pehoe Lakes. The road will take you to the Nordenskjold look out and bordering Sarmiento Lake and finally arriving in Laguna Amarga, from where you will have a panoramic view of the three “Towers of Paine”, always depending on the weather conditions. Once you leave the park you will be able to enjoy the most diverse landscapes. Before arriving in Puerto Natales, you will observe the little village of Cerro Castillo and Figueroa Lake.

Day 12: Balmaceda & Serrano Glaciers 

After enjoying breakfast, you will head towards the glacier sighting. On the road you will appreciate striking birds, sea lions on rocks and watching condors in areas of streams as it approaches the Balmaceda Mountain (2035 meters altitude) where you can appreciate the glacier of the same name. Then, you will disembark at Puerto Toro to start one hour walk round the shore of the lagoon “Tempanos”, accompanied by your bilingual guide. Through a native forest of “coihues”, “ñirres” and “ciruelillos”, toward the Serrano glacier, you will enjoy the fascinating vegetation surrounding the imposing massif of ice.

After witnessing a unique, wild and unspoiled landscape, you will complete the navigation anchoring in Puerto Natales.

Day 13: Farewell

At the scheduled time will be transferred to the bus terminal of Puerto Natales to board bus to El Calafate.
