Jump into this 6-day adventure from Hito Cajon, the Bolivian border with Chile, to Puno, along the most beautiful Bolivian landscapes.

Day 1: Reserve Eduardo Abaroa

Long day! Start with an early morning pick up in the Bolivian border of Hito Cajon to enter the REA, where you will visit the Laguna Verde (3 hours), in the foothills of the Licancabur Mountain. Then, you will cross through the high desert of Pampas de Dali, where you will have amazing views and passing alongside the Challviri lagoon, with its hot spring in the shores of Polques and the geysers “Sol de Mañana". Afterwards, you will visit the Laguna Colourada (2 hours), declared a RAMSAR site due to the nesting of over 30,000 flamingos at 4,278 m. Finally, you will reach Villamar.

Day 2: Uyuni Salt flats 

A morning trip will take you to the north through spectacular areas of stone formations as a consequence the erosion to Alota (1 hour) and then continue towards north passing the villages of San Agustin and San Juan. The adventure continues through the highlands to enter Uyuni Salt Flats, a natural wonder with over 10.000 km2 at 3.692 m of salt in Chuvica, (3 hours). You will cross it heading north to visit Isla Incahuasi, a special habitat of giant cactus and volcanic rocks. Continue east to the village of Colchani (2 hours), where the locals produce salt in the shores of the salt flats.

Day 3: Tiwanaku Ruins

An early morning transfer will take you to the airport to take your flight from Uyuni to La Paz.

Once there, you will have a trip to Tiwanaku (72 km), one of the oldest American cultures, considered the cradle of the American man. Then, you will visit the temple of Kalasasaya, the Gate of the Sun, monoliths Ponce and Fraile, the Akapana pyramid and Semiunderground temple, as well as the local museums. Finally, you will return to La Paz and have the afternoon free.

Day 4: La Paz City Tour

Today you will visit the street markets, rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft artifacts. Then, the Murillo square, the San Francisco Church, Gold Museum and the outdoor replica of the Tiwanaku temple. Afterwards, you will head towards the modern part of town, dropping down a lot in elevation to finally visit the Valley of the Moon to enjoy all of its natural geological formations. A cable car (Teleférico) from El Alto city to La Paz is a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz and a must for everyone!

Day 5: Island of the Sun

A private transportation will take you through the highlands and parallel to the Andes Royal Range to Copacabana (3 hour and a half), a nice town in the shores of Lake Titicaca. There, you will visit the famous Virgen Morena and its church and have a stroll of town. Afterwards, you will aboard a boat to the Island of the Sun (1 hour), land in Huacani port and have a typical lunch “Aptapi”. Finally, you will hike for about 45 min to overnight in Ecolodge La Estancia.

Day 6: Welcome to Puno!*

Don't miss the chance to marvel at a beautiful sunrise! Jump into a boat and head towards La Chincana (approximately 1 hour), to see this great Inca ruins. Continue in boat to the Moon Island, and visit the Iñak Uyu ruins. The boat journey continues to Copacabana (1 hours). Once there, a private transportation will take to Puno.

* Note: If the visit to La Chincana isn’t possible due to reasons of force majeure, the itinerary will change as follows:

Day 6: Moon Island

Don't miss the chance to marvel at a beautiful sunrise! Hike down through Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs and the Water of the Eternal Youth, then have a trip to the Island of the Moon (30 minutes) and the Inca ruins of Iñak Uyu temple to finally reach Copacabana (1 hour and a half). A private transportation will take you to Puno (3 hours and a half).
