Itinerary:

Explore the largest Salt Flats in the World! Marvel at its beautiful heaven alike landscapes and don't miss the chance to take the most amazing pictures of the imposing Titicaca Lake.

Day 1: Welcome to Bolivia!

Upon your arrival you will assisted at the La Paz airport and then transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Tiwanaku Ruins & Valley of the Moon

Today you will head to Tiwanaku, passing the highlands, one of the oldest American cultures, considered the cradle of the American man. You will visit the temple of Kalasasaya, Gate of the Sun, the monoliths Ponce and Fraile, the Akapana pyramid and Semiunderground temple, as well as the local museums where you will see pottery, stonework and learn about the culture.

At afternoon, you will have a 4 hours city tour through La Paz, elected as one of the 7 wonder cities in the world. It is located in a valley at the foothills of the Andes Range, situated at 3,632m / 11942 ft. above sea level. The tour goes through the street markets rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft items, followed by a visit to the colonial section of the city, San Francisco Church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square and the viewpoint "Mirador de Killi Killi". Then descending to the more modern, southern part of La Paz to reach and visit the Valley of the Moon, where a clay mountain has been impressively shaped by erosion.

Day 3: Uyuni Salt Flats

You will be transferred to the airport to take flight to Uyuni. On arrival you will be assisted an picked up.

At 10:00 a.m. you will departure from Uyuni to the Great Salt Flats. On the way, you will visit the train cemetery, where the remains of 19th and 20th century steam locomotives are. Then, you will have a brief stop in Colchani, as this is the best place to observe the methods of salt extraction; Continuing the journey, you will head towards Incahuasi Island (known as Fish Island), an oasis with a unique and isolated ecosystem that is populated by giant cactus up to 10 meters high. Afterwards, continue to north to the mummies of Pukara de Ayque fort. Finally, at appropriate time, go back to the Uyuni village.

Day 4: Island of the Sun

A transfer will take you from Colchani to Uyuni’s airport to take your flight back. On arrival to La Paz you will be assisted at the airport to start an pleasant trip by private transportation going towards north through the highlands, along the Titicaca Lake and parallel to the Andes Royal Range crossing the Tiquina strait (the narrowest part in the Lake -30 minutes by motorized wooden boat) until Copacabana, a picturesque town in the shores of Lake. Visit to its church and the famous "Virgen Morena". Afterwards, take a boat trip crossing the Lake to the Island of the Sun (approximately 1 hour) until Huacani to have an Aptapi (typical lunch in the highlands). The journey continues by boat up untill the ruins of Pilkokaina Inca temple. Finally, mesmerising hike to La Estancia with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca (1 hour and a half approximately).

Day 5: Island of the Moon*

Today you will have an excellent oportunity to watch one of the most beautiful sunrises! Get aboard and head to La Chincana (1 hour), to see this great Inca ruins, continue by boat (1 hour) to the Moon Island and visit the Iñak Uyu ruins. The boat journey continues to Copacabana (1 hour and a half). Finally, at scheluded time, you will head back to La Paz through by the same road (3 hours and a half). A cable car ride it’s a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz.

Day 6: Farewell

After breakfast, you will transferred to the airport to take your flight.

Day 5: Island of the Moon

Today you will have an excellent oportunity to watch one of the most beautiful sunrises! Start with a hike down through Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs and the Water of the Eternal Youth. Then, have a trip to the Island of the Moon (approximately 30 minutes) and the Inca ruins of Iñak Uyu temple, reaching Copacabana (1 hour and a half). You will be transferred back to La Paz through the same road (3 hour and a half). A cable car ride it’s a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz.
