Itinerary:

Marvel at the beautiful view of the Colorful Lagoon and its wildlife, don't miss the chance of take the most amazing pictures in the heaven alike Uyuni Salt Flats landscape and learn all the history of Bolivia in this 10-day adventure.

Day 1: Welcome to Bolivia!

Today you will be transferred by a private transport from Puno with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca until Copacabana (3 hour and a half), a picturesque town in the shores of Lake. You will visit to its church and the famous "Virgen Morena". Then, you will have a boat trip, crossing the Lake to the Island of the Sun (1 hour) until Huacani, to have an Aptapi (typical lunch in the highlands). The trip continues by boat up to the ruins of Pilkokaina Inca temple. Finally, you will hike to La Estancia with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca (1 hour and a half approximately).

Overnight in Sun Island

Day 2: Moon Island *

Today you will have an excellent oportunity to watch one of the most beautiful sunrises! Start with a hike down through Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs and the Water of the Eternal Youth. Then, have a trip to north by boat (1 hour) to visit Chincana ruins and the Sacred Rock; continuing to the Island of the Moon (1 hour) and the Inca ruins of Iñak Uyu temple, reaching Copacabana (1 hour and a half). A private transportation will take you to La Paz (3 hour and a half) along the best views of the Andes Royal Range and crossing Tiquina strait (the narrowest part in the Lake -30 minutes by motorized wooden boat). A cable car ride it’s a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz.

Day 3: Valley of the Moon

you will have a 4 hours city tour through La Paz, elected as one of the 7 wonder cities in the world. It is located in a valley at the foothills of the Andes Range, situated at 3,632m / 11942 ft. above sea level. The tour goes through the street markets rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft items, followed by a visit to the colonial section of the city, San Francisco Church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square and the viewpoint "Mirador de Killi Killi". Then descending to the more modern, southern part of La Paz to reach and visit the Valley of the Moon, where a clay mountain has been impressively shaped by erosion.

Day 4: Sucre

Today you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight to Sucre. On arrival, you will be picjed up and assisted.

Day 5: Sucre City Tour

This charming colonial city lies at the head of the valley at 2700 meters high. Here, you will visit the Casa de la Libertad, where the Act of Independence of Bolivia was signed in 1825; the Bolivar Park, to see examples of the aristocratic tradition of Sucre, with small replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc of Triumph of Paris; the church and museum of La Recoleta, and the museum of Indian Textiles ASUR.

Day 6: Potosi

An early private transfer will take you from Sucre, in a 3-hours trip by an amazing road starting in the valleys at 2,759 m.a.s.l. / 9.020 ft. You will reach Pilcomayo river and see the Puente Arce (a pending bridge used in past), go up to the to the highlands at 4,060 m.a.s.l. /13.320 ft, and reach the famous colonial mining city of Potosi.

At afternoon you will start by visiting Potosí in a journey back in time through traditional colonial streets and the artisan market; the famous Mint House, San Francisco church and the front of San Lorenzo (its facade) church that has one of the greatest examples of stone carvings of the baroque-mestizo style

Day 7: Cerro Rico Mine

This unique excursion allows you to experience an unforgettable trip hundreds of meters underground, to see the living and working conditions of the Bolivian miners (protective clothing and helmets are provided). The silver mine is in the famous Cerro Rico, once the richest of the world.

Then, you will start the tour in Potosí, passing through great branches of the Andes range, with lots of colours, erosion and cactus, near the villages of Chaquilla and Tika Tika, and the famous Pulacayo tin mine. Finally, you will head to the village of Uyuni (3 to 4 hours), which was a big train maintenance and workshop centre back in the day. Now, it has grown a lot due to tourism of Uyuni salt flats and the region.

Day 8: Uyuni Salt Flats

Today you will departure from Uyuni to the great salt flats. On the way, you will visit the train cemetery where the remains of 19th and 20th century steam locomotives are. Then, you will stop in Colchani, as this is the best place to observe the methods of salt extraction. Afterwards, you will head to the Incahuasi Island (known as Fish Island), an oasis with a unique and isolated ecosystem that is populated by giant cactus up to 10 meters high. Then, you will continue north to visit the mummies of Pukara de Ayque fort. Finally, at appropriate time go back to Uyuni village.

Overnight in Colchani 

Day 9: Tiwanaku

Today you will head to Tiwanaku, one of the most important pre-Inca civilizations and considered to be among the most developed at the time; passing the highlands, one of the oldest American cultures, considered the cradle of the American man and was one of the most important pre-Inca civilizations and considered to be among the most developed at the time. You will visit the temple of Kalasasaya, Gate of the Sun, the monoliths Ponce and Fraile, the Akapana pyramid and Semiunderground temple, as well as the local museums where you will see pottery, stonework and learn about the culture.

Overnight in La Paz

Day 11: Farewell

After breakfast you will be transferred to La Paz airport to take your flight.

Day 2: Moon Island

Today you will have an excellent opportunity to watch one of the most beautiful sunrises! Start with a hike down through Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs Water of the Eternal Youth. Then, have a trip to the Island of the Moon (30 minutes) and the Inca ruins of Iñak Uyu temple to finally reach Copacabana (1 hour and a half). A transportation will take you back to La Paz through the same road (3 hour and a half). A cable car ride it’s a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz.
