Day 1: Welcome to Bolivia!

Upon arriving in La Paz, you will be picked up and taken to your hotel.

Our representative will give you a documentation kit with detailed program explanation. Luggage and hotel registration assistance will be offered.

Day 2: Tiwanaku Ruins & Valley of the Moon 

Today you will head to Tiwanaku, one of the most important pre-Inca civilizations and considered to be among the most developed at the time; passing the highlands, one of the oldest American cultures, considered the cradle of the American man. You will visit the temple of Kalasasaya, Gate of the Sun, the monoliths Ponce and Fraile, the Akapana pyramid and Semiunderground temple, as well as the local museums where you will see pottery, stonework and learn about the culture.

At afternoon, you will have a 4 hours city tour through La Paz, elected as one of the 7 wonder cities in the world. It is located in a valley at the foothills of the Andes Range, situated at 3,632m / 11942 ft. above sea level. The tour goes through the street markets rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft items, followed by a visit to the colonial section of the city, San Francisco Church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square and the viewpoint "Mirador de Killi Killi". Then, you will descend to the modern, southern part of La Paz to reach and visit the Valley of the Moon, where a clay mountain has been impressively shaped by erosion.

Day 3: Sucre

You will be transferred to the airport to take your flight to Sucre. Upon arrival you will be assisted and transferred to the hotel.

Day 4: Sucre City Tour

This charming colonial city lies at the head of the valley at 2700 meters high. Here, you will visit the Casa de la Libertad, where the Act of Independence of Bolivia was signed in 1825; the Bolivar Park, to see examples of the aristocratic tradition of Sucre, with small replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc of Triumph of Paris; the church and museum of La Recoleta, and the museum of Indian Textiles ASUR.

Day 5: Potosi

An early private transfer will take you from Sucre, in a 3-hours trip by an amazing road starting in the valleys at 2,759 m.a.s.l. / 9.020 ft. You will reach Pilcomayo river and see the Puente Arce (a pending bridge used in past), go up to the to the highlands at 4,060 m.a.s.l. /13.320 ft, and reach the famous colonial mining city of Potosi.

At afternoon you will start by visiting Potosí in a journey back in time through traditional colonial streets and the artisan market; the famous Mint House, San Francisco church and the front of San Lorenzo (its facade) church that has one of the greatest examples of stone carvings of the baroque-mestizo style.

Day 6: Cerro Rico Mine

This unique excursion allows you to experience an unforgettable trip hundreds of meters underground, to see the living and working conditions of the Bolivian miners (protective clothing and helmets are provided). The silver mine is in the famous Cerro Rico, once the richest of the world.

Then, you will start the tour in Potosí, passing through great branches of the Andes range, with lots of colours, erosion and cactus, near the villages of Chaquilla and Tika Tika, and the famous Pulacayo tin mine. Finally, you will head to the village of Uyuni (3 to 4 hours), which was a big train maintenance and workshop centre back in the day. Now, it has grown a lot due to tourism of Uyuni salt flats and the region.

Day 7: Train Cemetery

Today you will head towards south, visiting first the cemetery of old trains, a place full of history. Then, through the highlands, passing the villages of San Cristobal, Culpina K until the high and rich valley of Alota (approximately 3 hours). You will visit then the areas with great stone formations as product of the erosion. Continue through the high valleys until the village of Villamar (1 hour).

Finally, you will visit the Cave Paintings and Thomas Lakjas Necropolis.

Day 8: Colourful Lagoons 

Long day! Start with an early morning trip towards the REA (National Reserve Eduardo Abaroa), where you will visit the Laguna Colourada (2 hours), declared a RAMSAR site due to the nesting of over 30,000 flamingos at 4,278 m. Then, you will head towards the geysers “Sol de Mañana", passing alongside the Challviri lagoon, with its hot spring in the shores of Polques. Then, you will cross through the high desert of Pampas de Dali, where you will have amazing views, to finally reach Laguna Verde (3 hours), in the foothills of the Licancabur Mountain.

Overnight in Ojos de Perdiz

Day 9: Uyuni Salt Flats

An early morning trip will take you to the north through the minor lagoons: Hedionda and Cañapa. You will continue to east through branches of the range, reaching the valley of Alota (3 hours). Passing through the highlands and the villages of San Agustin and San Juan (2 hours), to enter into Chuvica and to the great Uyuni Salt Flat. There, you will cross to the "Isla Incahuasi" (1 hour), a special habitat of volcanic rocks and giant cactus. Finally, you will continue to east to the village of Colchani (2 hours), where the locals produce salt and you will enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Day 10: Island of the Sun

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Uyuni’s airport to take a flight to La Paz. On arrival you will be assisted and picked up into a nice trip by private transportation heading towards north through the highlands. On the way, you will pass along the Titicaca Lake and parallel to the Andes Royal Range reaching Copacabana (3 hour and a half), a pleasant town in the shores of Lake. There, you will visit to its church and the famous "Virgen Morena". Afterwards, you will jump into a boat trip crossing the Lake to the Island of the Sun (1 hour) until Huacani, where yo will have an Aptapi (typical lunch in the highlands). You will continue by boat up to the ruins of Pilkokaina Inca temple. and finally, a hike to La Estancia with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca (1 hour approximately).

Day 11: Moon Island*

Today you will have an excellent opportunity to watch one of the most beautiful sunrises! Get aboard and head to La Chincana (1 hour), to see this great Inca ruins, continue by boat (1 hour) to the Moon Island and visit the Iñak Uyu ruins. The boat trip continues to Copacabana (1 hour and a half). Finally, at scheduled time, you will head back to La Paz through by the same road (3 hours and a half). Once there, a cable car ride it’s a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz.

Day 12: Farewell

After enjoying breakfast you will be picked up and transferred to the airport.

Day 11: Moon Island

Today you will have an excellent opportunity to watch one of the most beautiful sunrises! Start with a hike down through Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs Water of the Eternal Youth. Then, have a trip to the Island of the Moon (30 minutes) and the Inca ruins of Iñak Uyu temple to finally reach Copacabana (1 hour and a half). A transportation will take you back to La Paz through the same road (3 hour and a half). A cable car ride it’s a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz.
