Day 1: Welcome to Lima!

Upon arrival, at Jorge Chavez International Airport you will be assisted and transferred to the hotel.

Overnight at Country Club Lima Hotel

Day 2: Lima City Tour and Larco Museum

You will visit the modern and colonial parts of Lima, known as The City of Kings, starting at the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, and passing along a “Huaca” or sacred pre-Inca site, before heading to the Historic Center. There, you will walk along some of the most historically important streets of the city, leading to the Plaza de Armas, where you will have some time to take pictures of the amazing colonial architecture that surrounds it. You will also have the chance to take a peek into an iconic building, that has served Lima’s citizens for centuries and continues to be an important landmark. Then you will visit the impressive Convent of Santo Domingo, an astonishing building with colonial style. After exploring the Historical Center, you will head towards the Larco Museum, which houses the incomparable Treasures of Ancient Peru private collection.

Day 3: Flight to Cusco and way to Sacred Valley

At the proper time, transfer to the Lima airport to take your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be assisted at the hotel and transferred to the Sacred Valley.

Half-Day Discovering Maras and Moray

You will leave your hotel and head to the Raqchi Viewpoint, from where you will have an impressive view of the Sacred Valley. From there, you will continue towards Maras, ancestral salt mines where, until today, the finest salt in the world is extracted. Then, you will head to Moray, an Inca archeological site famous for its impressive concentric terraces. There, you will have a guided tour to learn all about these fascinating ruins. Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 4: Full day Machu Picchu

You will visit one of the most important tourist destinations in the world: Machu Picchu. Your excursion starts aboard a train towards the town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. The natural beauty of the surroundings makes the train ride the best way to start your visit. Once you arrive, you will begin the ascent to the ruins. This visit will, without a doubt, be one of your most memorable experiences. After you reach the top, you will take a tour of Machu Picchu, learning the history and mysteries of one of the Seven Wonders of the World. And, with amazing sceneries all around, you will surely have more than one spectacular photo-op. Then, it’s back to Aguas Calientes for lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, you will board the train for the return journey. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Upon arrival, you will be assisted at Ollanta station and transferred to Cusco.

Day 5: Cusco City Tour and Nearby Ruins

You will explore the city of Cusco, also known as the Imperial City, and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will walk its streets where time seems to have stopped, where every corner tells a story. You will visit the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and center of worship to the Sun God, on which the Dominican order built a church, which remains standing to this day. You will continue ascending to the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Afterward, you will visit other places of importance within the Inca culture, such as the archaeological site of Q'enko. Finally, you will arrive at the Plaza de Armas (main square), where you will visit the Cathedral, the most important Catholic temple in the city.

Day 6: Flight to Puerto Maldonado / All-Inclusive Program

You will be assisted at the hotel and transferred to the Cusco Airport.

The adventure begins with arriving in Puerto Maldonado, where you will be welcomed and provided with the necessary information for your stay. You will ride in a canoe with an outboard motor along the Madre de Dios River to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción (approximately 25 minutes downstream). Enjoy a buffet lunch made with organic ingredients and native flavors. Afterward, you will walk through the Concepción trail network where you will discover and learn about the forest, its components, uses, man-made transformations, and its relevance to the world. At dusk, you will go on a canoe trip along the river at night, where you will see the behavior of the nocturnal fauna and the southern constellations. Afterward, enjoy dinner in the dining room of the Casa Grande.

Day 7: Tambopata National Reserve

After breakfast, you can take an excursion to Lake Sandoval in the Tambopata National Reserve. Paddle in a wooden canoe on the lake, home to many endangered species, such as the Giant River Otter, Red Howler Monkeys, Red-bellied Macaw, anacondas, and the Yellow-spotted Side neck Turtle. Head back to Inkaterra Amazon Reserve for lunch. In the afternoon the recommendation is to visit the Inkaterra Canopy, a 29 meters tall observation tower where you can see many species that live in the high canopy of the forest. Next, you can take the Anaconda Hike, where you will walk for 30 minutes along 200 meters of wooden bridges over the marsh, looking for anacondas. At night you will explore the Amazon rainforest that gives way to nightlife. End your day an exceptional day with a delicious dinner.

Day 8: Good-Bye Puerto Maldonado!

Enjoy a full breakfast before leaving.

Enjoy a 45-minute boat ride on the Madre de Dios River, back to Puerto Maldonado where you will visit the Butterfly House. Peru has the largest variety of butterflies in the world, with 3,700 known species. Then take your flight to Lima. (not included)
