Lima Highlights with Larco Museum

5 hours

Easy

Lima is a city of 2 halves: the old and the new. Explore the different districts with a guide and get under the skin of Peru’s misunderstood capital. From plazas to museums, galleries and convents, you’ll see some of the highlights in this afternoon tour. Includes a visit to the impressive Larco Museum, which will whet your appetite for adventures in Cuzco and Machu Picchu.

Highlights:

  • Capture the beauty of Lima’s main square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Observe how old the old and new co-exist in Lima’s most popular neighborhoods, from Miraflores to San Isidro
  • Visit the Convent of Santo Domingo, where the tombs of 3 Peruvian saints can be found. Look out for their skulls contained in a glass cabinet nearby–yes, it’s as gruesome as it sounds
  • Get lost in the Larco Museum, which houses a vast collection of Peruvian artefacts from pre-Hispanic times–it sets the scene perfectly for explorations to Cuzco and the Sacred Valley
